All of our digital events will be shown on our YouTube channel and/or our Facebook page at set times during the festival, but can be viewed afterwards too. See event details here.
No, simply go to our YouTube channel or our Facebook page at the time the event starts to watch (or catch up at a later date). All of our events are free this year.
Most of our digital events are interactive and encourage children to be creative. Check the details on the individual event page to see what materials (if any) you need to take part in creative writing workshops and craft activities.
All of the books can be bought or ordered through our festival partner Storysmith, and some of them will include signed bookplates!
It’s Bristol’s first citywide festival celebrating children’s stories. We’ve invited storytellers, authors, illustrators, and publishers based in Bristol to be a part of this inaugural festival. There are events ranging from creative writing workshops and talks, to story and craft sessions and interactive storytelling.
The festival was founded by a group of volunteers who are enthusiastic about children’s books and stories. You can find out more about our story here.
To find out how to buy Storytale Festival tickets please go to the ‘How to book’ section at the bottom of each event listing.
Some events have a ‘Book now’ button that takes you to an external ticket sales website, and other event hosts provide an email address for booking spaces.
Please be aware that free events still need to be booked, due to maximum capacity requirements.
This will depend on the venue that’s hosting the Storytale Festival event. We advise you to contact the venue directly if there’s no guidance about space for buggies in our event description.
Please be aware that each of the Storytale Festival event hosts have their own individual cancellation policies. You will need to contact the event host, or place of ticket purchase, if you would like to discuss cancelling your tickets.

Some money is going towards the cost of venue hire, some is going towards facilitators’ costs and some will (hopefully) go into the pot for next year’s festival.
