Co-founder of the Storytale Festival and author of time travel adventure trilogy Time Shifters – intended to run just one creative writing workshop for children at Storysmith and somehow ended up co-organising the festival!

Owner of Grounded Cloud: branding, print and digital design specialists. Grounded Cloud sponsored the Storytale Festival with brand naming, brand identity creation, design for printed materials and website design.

Storytale Festival Copywriter

Freelance Creative Copywriter – involved at the beginning of the Storytale journey. Came up with the festival’s strapline and tone of voice, then wrote the copy for the website and advertising materials.

Author – ran a session where she read an extract from her book St Cuthbert’s Wild School for Boys, then led a discussion about learning, play, nature, and the wild.

Owner of Colourful Minds – ran a term of her art workshops with books curated by Storytale Festival and craft projects created by Colourful Minds.

UWE senior lecturer and network lead at Curiosity Connections Bristol: the network for inspirational primary STEM education in the Bristol region. Curiosity Connections Bristol brought together curious children with stereotype-busting scientists and engineers from around Bristol, who told science themed stories to them.

Spike Island hosted a special Storytale edition of Baby Art Hour – a monthly session for under fives and their carers, led by artist Éilis Kirby. Spike Island is a public space where people can discover and connect with art. It’s home to a community of over 70 artists and creative businesses.

Event Host

Creative Writing at the University of Bristol was happy to sponsor the Wild Writing with Anna Wilson, Chris Vick and Mimi Thebo event about wild books for wild readers, with writers who spend time in the great outdoors. Creative Writing at Bristol uses practice-based research to look at some of the major themes of our time, for readers of all ages. Good writing can encourage young people to get involved with (and perhaps attempt to protect) the natural world.
